Our History Serving Thurston County Since 1958 A Bit of History Poages was originally established North of the present site at Capitol and Trosper Road. The two bay Mobil gas station was started in 1958. Earl and Terrel Poage provided the highest quality service to their customers of South Tumwater and the surrounding community of Thurston County. Earl and Terrel were also involved with community programs for youth such as the Capitol City Cogs Car Club and the National Hot Rod Association. Through these programs many young people developed life long job skills, work ethics, and concern for their neighbors. One such person that benefited from their guidance is the present owner Warren Bergh. He worked at Poages Mobil while attending Tacoma Vocational. He later moved on to Martin Paulsen's garage on West Harrison and completing his automobile apprenticeship program. In the mid 60's Warren worked in the Automotive area at Sears Lacey store. In 1975 Warren returned to Poages as Earl Poage was opening the present Automotive Center at 5403 Capitol Boulevard, working as a mechanic and later managing the center. In the late 80's he took over the business and is today's present owner. The business has developed into a 9 bay operation with tow trucks to handle any size job. Our Current Staff Owner : Warren Bergh
